ENTRIES IN For Pilkingtons’ Trophy Comp - All the ‘placed’ entries from competitions of last season can be entered into this competition. Members will be notified of their qualifying entries before the start of the season.

23rd Sept

Programme change John Round - Prints. John is our Honorary Life President and our oldest member. He will show us some of his superb prints - ranging from his earlier darkroom monochrome work to prints from his recently acquired A2 inkjet printer. PRINT PRESENTATION

Dewi Edwards - “Antarctica”. New to us as a speaker. Actively involved with RSPB at Conwy. Dewi is widely travelled and spent several seasons working in Antarctica. DIGITAL PROJECTED PRESENTATION

Andy Williams - Easter Island, a flying visit” . Andy is an original Member of the North Wales Monochrome Group, and a dedicated darkroom printer. He took a sabbatical and went photographing in Easter Island and many other exotic Eastern locations. He uses mainly Hasselblad and Noblex panoramic medium format cameras. A digital camera is used for some colour work. His monochrome prints are of the highest possible quality. MONOCHROME PRINTS AND DIGITAL PROJECTED PRESENTATION

Tom Dodd - “Landscape in Mono & Colour” One of N.Wales best-known and liked photographers, Tom is both an experienced climber and skier. He usually has his camera with him on these trips, and captures some superb scenes. PRINT PRESENTATION.

Programme change...“How do I...? Question and answer session for & by members - A few members will setup their laptops so they can answer questions about Photoshop etc, on an almost one-to-one basis. Any member can also bring along their own laptop if they have questions specific to their own setup.
At the same time there will be a print-mounting demonstration going on.

11th Nov

David Flitcroft - “Nothing Special”. A well-known local photographer who lives on Anglesey. He is President of the North Wales Photographic Association, a member of the North Wales Monochrome Group and webmaster for both these organisations. PRINT PRESENTATION.

Margaret Salisbury - “Dragon Pix”. An internationally famous photographer and photographic judge, whom we are proud to have as a Life Member of the Rhyl Photographic Society. Margaret is sponsored by Fotospeed, and her work takes her all over the world. Her list of qualifications, and memberships of major photographic institutions, are far too numerous to mention here. We are very fortunate that she is able to break her busy schedule and visit us. Wilf & Barbara Cope - “North to Alaska” A widely travelled couple whose adventures have taken them to many foreign countries. They are experienced photographers who illustrate their talks using projected slides. COLOUR SLIDE PRESENTATION

Programme change - Marion Waine & John Rowell - “The World of Digital AV” These two photographers are known nationally as being some of the best Audio Visual workers. They have won many international competitions with their work, and are going to show us some of their productions, and how they were made. DIGITAL PROJECTED PRESENTATION

Pierino Algieri - “Landscapes of North Wales”. Possibly the best-known colour landscape photographer in N.Wales. Pierino is successful commercially, although he is still an amateur. His work gives him access to areas not open to the public, whilst his living in Snowdonia puts him on the doorstep of some superb scenery. He is a gifted photographer who works mainly with medium format slide film. Mike Williams - Photoshop Demonstration. Once a member of this Club, Mike is a very successful portrait and wedding photographer. He has now expanded into teaching photography and digital manipulation in his fully equipped workshop. One of his many abilities is to explain the seemingly complex areas of digital photography in a way that absolute beginners understand. DIGITAL PROJECTED PRESENTATION.

17th Feb

John Roberts - “Landscapes” John is a local photographer and photographic judge, renowned for his medium format colour slides of Snowdonia. He has recently moved into panoramic photography, using a Hasselblad Xpan camera. John has held various offices in the NWPA, and the Caernarfon camera club. He is a member of the N.Wales Monochrome Group, using mainly inkjet produced images.

Andy Polakowsky - “Apology for Photographers” A local photographer of many years experience. Andy has won many major competitions in magazines etc. with his images. His interest in cycling has taken him into many varied and interesting locations. Now a digital photographer, he has still retained a gold-mine of classic film cameras. DIGITAL PROJECTED PRESENTATION

Steve Lewis - “f32 and be there early”. Steve has been a landscape photographer for over 25 years. He is closely associated with the Snowdonia National Park in particular; with a wide knowledge and understanding of the area.
For his personal work, Steve uses, and is a keen advocate of, large format cameras, used in conjunction with transparency film. He feels that the outstanding detail and superb tonal quality these cameras produce is the perfect vehicle for the light, colour, tone and texture which characterise his work. www.landscapesofwales.co.uk
